May 20, 2020 · When you’re installing horizontal shiplap it’s easy to ensure pretty much every board hits a stud, but vertical shiplap is tricky since most of the boards won’t! One way to combat this is to use Liquid Nails to glue the boards to the wall before nailing them in, but I chose not to use it for this.

Oct 26, 2017 · So onto installation: you will want to find the studs in the wall where you want to install the shiplap...and mark the wall, this is where you will nail the strips to the wall....make sure to paint the wall white prior to installation of the strips... Then using no more nails adhesive you will make sure to add a good amount along the back of the whole strip and using a level you will level your first run of shiplap...and nail it into the studs...this will hold it while the glue dries...make ...
I'm planning on installing 10" pine shiplap board, horizontally on my large gable end interior wall. I'm wondering how to nail it properly. I understand with T+G I can blind nail because the tongue gets captured, but with shiplap it doesn't appear this will be the case.
